Executive Chairman
As the second generation to lead MX Holdings, Mike Lefton has been with the company for the entirety of his career. In 1984 he started his career as a scrap buyer at Pennex Aluminum. Over the years, he has held a variety of key leadership roles, including Trader for Metal Exchange, leading the RSI/Dross business unit, and overseeing the Transportation/Logistics department. In 1998, Mike led the development of the company’s proprietary trading software, which is still in use today. After serving as CEO from 2010 to 2017, Mike transitioned to Executive Chairman, where he works alongside the CEO to set the company’s strategic direction and preside over the board of directors.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from Washington University. He is actively involved in the community, currently serving as Board President for Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis and on the boards of Barnes Jewish Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, and the St. Louis Men's Group Against Cancer.
One of Mike’s favorite volunteer experiences is Variety’s Bikes for Kids program, where the Metal Exchange team builds bicycles for children with disabilities. He takes great pride in MX Holdings’ commitment to being people-focused and purpose-driven, ensuring that the company makes a positive impact on both its employees and the community.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys ice hockey, skiing, golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. His go-to karaoke song is “New York, New York,” and his favorite use of aluminum is sitting on an ice-cold bleacher seat while watching a hockey game.
CEO
Since joining MX Holdings in 2016, Matt Rohm has served in several key leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer (2016-2021) and Chief Operating Officer (2022), before being named Chief Executive Officer in 2023. In his current role, Matt is responsible for serving the needs of over 700 employees across Metal Exchange, Pennex, and MX Holdings, ensuring the company’s continued success and growth.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Bradley University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining MX Holdings, Matt served in leadership positions at companies that include Energizer Holdings, Sun Edison, and Anheuser-Busch, where he served for 11 years, including 9 years supporting Metal Container Corporation and leading beverage can sheet procurement.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, he serves as a board member for the Missouri Humane Society and is an Advisory Board Member for Live Inspired by John O'Leary. He encourages all MX holdings employees to get involved in the community, and one of his favorite volunteer experiences while at the company was being involved with the STL Cardinal Toys drive for BJC Children's Hospital.
When it comes to MX Holdings, Matt takes pride in the company’s people, values, and culture. Outside of work, he enjoys walking his four dogs, golfing, cooking (particularly grilling and using his Blackstone), attending concerts, and, on occasion, singing his go-to karaoke song, "Pink Houses" by John Mellencamp. As for his favorite use of aluminum? Cans for cold beverages, of course!
President of Manufacturing
Mark Butterfield joined MX Holdings in 2022 and currently serves as President of Manufacturing, overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations, including casting, extrusion, fabrication, and assembly. He also leads the strategic pillars of safety, talent development, business development, financial and risk management, innovation, and operational excellence across MX Holdings’ manufacturing facilities.
Mark studied Mechanical Engineering at Miami University before starting his career as a CAD Operator, working in various technical roles before advancing to VP of Engineering at Magnode Corp. He later transitioned into operations and management, where he oversaw multi-site, vertically integrated plants focused on casting, extrusion, fabrication, and assembly. Before joining MX Holdings, he served as Managing Director of Aluminum at Shape Corp.
Mark is actively involved as a leader in the aluminum industry. He currently serves as Chairman of the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and Co-Chairman of the ET Foundation. He has also held leadership roles such as Chairman of the Automotive Committee at AEC and has contributed as an editor for Light Metal Age.
What Mark values most about MX Holdings is the company’s commitment to its core values—Safety, Integrity, Caring, and Growth—and the genuine focus on developing people and community support. One of his favorite volunteer experiences at MX Holdings has been serving meals alongside company leadership.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys contributing to his family’s seventh-generation working farm and spending time with family and friends. His favorite use of aluminum is knowing that his friends and family are safer on the roads due to Pennex products, such as bumpers and crush cans, which enhance road safety by providing crash absorption and protection in vehicles.
CFO of Metal Exchange
Dan Jarvis has been with Metal Exchange since 2013, serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2022. In his role, he oversees financial operations, including strategy, compliance, tax, treasury, credit, and reporting for the Trading Division. Before becoming CFO, Dan held several key positions within the company, including Accounting Manager, Trading Division Controller, and Corporate Controller.
Dan earned both his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Business Administration, with a minor in Economics, from Truman State University, as well as his Master’s in Accountancy. His leadership and dedication earned him the MXH Growth Champion award. One of Dan's favorite volunteering experiences at MX Holdings has been participating in the Operation Food Search backpack program, which provides weekly sacks of kid-friendly, shelf-stable food to get students through the weekend when school meals are not available.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his kids, hiking, traveling, and cooking. He is often found working on home improvement projects in his free time. His go-to karaoke song is “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey, and at home, his family enjoys drinking plenty of canned water—showcasing their appreciation for aluminum.
CFO of Manufacturing
Dave McCoy has been with MX Holdings since 2016 and currently serves as CFO of Manufacturing. In this role, he leads leads all finance, accounting, and treasury activities for Metal Exchange’s manufacturing businesses. Before this, Dave held various leadership roles within MX Holdings, including, VP of Finance, and Director of FP&A. His experience also includes key financial and leadership positions at SunEdison, Express Scripts, and Home Decorators Collection, a subsidiary of Home Depot.
Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Belmont University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Saint Louis University. His achievements include being named MX Holdings’ Growth Champion in 2019 and earning a Green Belt in Operational Excellence. In addition to his professional work, Dave is actively involved in community service, with one of his favorite volunteer experiences being with the Nashville Rescue Mission.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family. His go-to karaoke song is “Country Roads” by John Denver, and after working extensively in the manufacturing industry, he’s come to appreciate the complex applications of aluminum in automotive parts.
VP of Human Resources
Becky Parisi has been with MX Holdings since 2015, and as Vice President of Human Resources, she leads the HR team and drives the company’s overall people strategy. Her focus is on attracting top talent, fostering an inclusive and supportive work culture, and supporting employee growth and development. Becky oversees key HR functions, including talent acquisition, total rewards, learning and development, and ensuring compliance with labor laws to help MX Holdings meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Throughout her career, Becky has held several key HR roles. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Human Resources at MX Holdings and Compensation Benefits Manager. Before joining the company, she was Director of Human Resources at Circulation Development, Inc.
Becky is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Team Leader for the Aluminum Extruder Council’s Workforce Development Team. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Lindenwood University and completed the Human Resource Executive Education Program at Michigan University.
Some of Becky’s favorite volunteer experiences at MX Holdings was serving with the Executive Leadership Team at the Greenville, PA food pantry, as well as working alongside the HR team at Operation Food Search, or painting the break room at our facility in York, PA. She finds all her volunteer experiences to be incredibly meaningful in their own ways.
Outside of work, Becky enjoys spending time with her husband, their blended family of five kids, and their two dogs. Live music is a big passion of hers as well as cooking, and hosting meals with friends and family, and participating in her family’s annual candy-making tradition. They love outdoor activities like hiking, biking, camping, and riding Side X Sides in the mountains. Aluminum plays a huge role in her everyday life—from window frames and kitchen appliances to the safety of her family in their F-150.
VP of Information Technology
Tom Marklin has been with MX Holdings since 2004 and currently serves as Vice President of Information Technology. In this role, Tom is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and availability of the company’s IT infrastructure, business system software platforms, and endpoints. He also focuses on aligning IT initiatives with business needs and objectives, ensuring seamless integration across the organization.
Before joining MX Holdings, Tom gained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University before starting his career as a Process Control Engineer at Anheuser-Busch and as an IT Consultant. At Metal Exchange, he started as an IT Program Manager before transitioning to Vice President of IT in 2014.
What Tom values most about working at MX Holdings is the Lefton family’s long-term commitment to strong principles, the company’s focus on renewable practices, and the high-quality people in the organization.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys playing guitar, snow skiing, golfing, and hiking. His go-to karaoke song is "Wagon Wheel," and his favorite use of aluminum is in food and beverage containers.
VP of Marketing and Communications
Allison joined MX Holdings at the start of 2023 as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, after partnering with the company as a marketing and brand consultant in the years prior. In her role, she leads the marketing and communications team, responsible for brand strategy and development, demand generation, creative, sales enablement, internal and external communications.
From developing clever and innovative brand growth strategies to implementing data-driven campaigns, she has nearly twenty years of marketing and creative leadership experience. She has previously held positions across multiple industries with Maritz, Emerson and So Hospitality Group. Throughout her career, she has also worked as a consultant on marketing and creative projects for clients such as Girl Scouts of America, Nestle Purina, and Major League Soccer.
Allison earned her Bachelor’s on Visual Communications with an emphasis in Advertising Design and Marketing from Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, she holds executive certifications in marketing leadership and digital marketing from Washington University’s Olin School of Business and and University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Like other MX Holdings leaders, Allison is passionate about making a positive impact on our community – with initiatives that support and empower women and girls closest to her heart. Over the years she has volunteered her time and skill to charities that include Dress For Success, Wings of Hope, St. Louis Foodbank, Pedal The Cause, and Planned Parenthood. Of the MX Holdings sponsored initiatives, the time spent serving meals at Nashville Rescue Mission was most memorable.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys traveling, exploring museums and art galleries, and spending time with her husband and two Australian Shepherds, Luna and Stella. She’s not the first to grab the mic at karaoke, but might be convinced to join in on a rendition of Shoop by Salt’n’Pepa. Being fairly new to the Aluminum industry, she doesn’t have a favorite application just yet, but is impressed by the sheer variety of applications she continues to learn about.
VP of Procurement
Jason Barr joined MX Holdings in July 2023 as Vice President of Procurement, where he leads the newly formed procurement organization. His focus is on enhancing external relationships with key partners and suppliers, improving procurement processes, and leveraging systems and technology to better understand and manage spend across the enterprise.
Jason began his career at Energizer Holdings, Inc., where he worked for 16 years, starting as a Production Supervisor and later leading over $1.2 billion in global spend as Director of Indirect Procurement. He then moved to The J.M. Smucker Company, where he spent 9 years as Vice President of Indirect Procurement and Shared Services, overseeing $2 billion in enterprise spend. During his time at Smucker, he implemented Supply Chain Financing, generating over $500 million in free cash flow and building industry-leading procurement capabilities.
He holds a double major in Economics and Business Administration from Muskingum College (New Concord, OH). Jason is proud of MX Holdings' family heritage and values, finding it refreshing to lead authentically without the pressures of a publicly traded company.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys fishing on Lake Erie with his family, collecting Cleveland sports team bobbleheads, attending country music concerts, and playing Fortnite with his daughters. He and his wife also run an Airbnb and enjoy remodeling houses. While he doesn’t sing, if he did, it would be something by Eric Church or HARDY. His favorite use of aluminum is disposable roasting pans, which he often uses when smoking meats.
General Counsel
Through his firm, Jeff has operated as a fractional General Counsel since 2011, where he focuses on managing legal issues and minimizing risks for the company. With a legal career spanning 55 years, Jeff has held numerous positions both in private practice and as in-house counsel for various companies.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1965 and his Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1968.
What Jeff enjoys most about working at MX Holdings is the fantastic colleagues he works with every day and the company’s strong culture that enables them. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, riding his motorcycle, vegetable gardening, and volunteering. His favorite use of aluminum in daily life? Eating utensils and the tops of salt and pepper shakers.
General Counsel
Carla Martin joined MX Holdings in 2023 as General Counsel and is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. She provides strategic guidance on legal matters, leveraging her deep expertise in corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, intellectual property, employment, and international law. Carla plays a crucial role in shaping the company’s legal framework, supporting its rapid growth while mitigating risks. What she values most about working at MX Holdings is the opportunity to build the company’s in-house legal function from the ground up, alongside a team of thoughtful and driven colleagues.
Before joining MX Holdings, Carla was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Novus International, Inc., where she spent nearly eleven years devising innovative legal strategies. Her leadership earned multiple awards for her efforts in driving extraordinary results. Carla has also held senior counsel roles at Nestlé Purina PetCare Company and Macy’s, Inc., after starting her legal career at the firm Lewis Rice and Fingersh.
Carla is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois and holds a veterinary medicine license in Missouri. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Carla earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University, and her law degree, magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University, where she also earned a Health Law Certificate.
Outside of law, Carla began her professional career as an emergency and critical care veterinarian, providing care for critically ill and injured animals. She hopes to return to veterinary medicine as a volunteer when she retires. As for karaoke, she’ll leave it to others, but when it comes to aluminum, she’s a big fan of its versatility, especially aluminum foil.
Vice President International and Business Development
Kevin Schmidt has been with MX Holdings since 2006 and currently serves as Vice President of International and Business Development. In this role, he oversees Metal Exchange International, focusing on growth initiatives, new markets, and developing business opportunities globally. Kevin’s extensive career at MX Holdings has seen him rise through various roles, from export documentation to leading international business development.
Kevin started his journey at MX Holdings as a temporary worker in export documentation before quickly transitioning to a full-time role in domestic logistics. He later moved into supply-chain planning and then became a junior trader in the Dross/Foundry/RSI sectors. After relocating to Shanghai, Kevin played a key role in expanding scrap sales into China and strengthening relationships in procurement. He returned to the U.S. to manage procurement in Semis and later became Business Unit Manager of Semis. What Kevin appreciates most about MX Holdings is the company's commitment to its people and the support it provides to those who work hard and seek opportunities.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on management and marketing, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). He is also an Eagle Scout and a former "Big" with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, which he considers one of his most rewarding volunteer experiences.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys snow skiing, backpacking, cooking, and hunting. While he doesn’t usually do karaoke, if pressed, he’d choose the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. His favorite uses of aluminum are cans, for their light weight and ease of travel, and foil, for its versatility in cooking.
Vice President of Value-Added Products
Ryan Adams has been with MX Holdings since 2008 and currently leads the Value-Added Products segment, which encompasses Aluminum Prime, Common Alloy, and Light Gauge aluminum rolled products. Throughout his career at MX, Ryan has held several key roles, beginning as a customer service coordinator in the Semis Business Unit, to becoming a logistics coordinator, managing domestic shipments, and later became a Trader of rolled products and becoming the National Sales Manager before taking on his current role.
Ryan has been recognized for his contributions to MX Holdings, receiving the Growth Award in both 2021 and 2022. He also led the acquisition of Medalco Metals, expanding the company’s rolled products team to include foil and light gauge. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and has completed several professional development programs, including the Penn State Executive Program and Tugboat Paced Growth Executive Education Seminar.
One of Ryan’s most meaningful volunteer experiences has been working with Food Outreach in St. Louis, a nonprofit dedicated to providing nutritional support to individuals living with HIV or cancer. Ryan particularly enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, assisting the chef in preparing meals for those in need.
Ryan values MX Holdings' entrepreneurial spirit and the company’s commitment to professional growth. He appreciates the way MX empowers its employees to think creatively and take initiative, fostering an environment of innovation..
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys supporting his children’s activities—his daughter, Piper, in cheerleading, and his son, Nolan, in basketball and golf. He also enjoys playing golf, attending live music events, and cheering for Mizzou Football. When it comes to karaoke, Ryan’s song choice is a toss up between “Revival” by Zach Bryan or anything by Travis Tritt. His favorite use of aluminum is in the kitchen, where aluminum foil is indispensable for everything from food storage to lining the smoker pit.
Vice President Scrap and Global Recycling
Craig Weber has been with MX Holdings since 1995 and currently serves as Vice President of Scrap & Global Recycling. In this role, Craig leads a team of 10 buyers and traders, overseeing the financial results for the Recycled Materials (International & Domestic), Foundry, Billet, and Processing business units. His extensive experience in the scrap and recycling industry has made him a key leader within MX Holdings.
Craig’s career at MX Holdings has taken him across the globe. Starting as a Scrap Buyer in St. Louis in 1995, he advanced to Scrap Trader and eventually became Business Unit Manager. His international experience includes serving as Vice President for Metal Exchange International in Zurich, Switzerland, and leading the Scrap Business Unit in Shanghai, China. Craig has also held leadership roles in Singapore before returning to St. Louis in 2022 as Vice President of Scrap & Global Recycling.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Maryville University. He is passionate about giving back and has been involved with organizations such as the Little Bit Foundation and the APA Animal Protection Agency.
What Craig enjoys most about MX Holdings is the people he works with. Outside of work, he loves playing pickleball, hiking, traveling, cheering for STL City Soccer, and spending time with his many dogs. His go-to karaoke song is "Love Shack" by the B-52's, and his favorite use of aluminum? His wife’s Tesla.

PA, USA
The headquarters of Pennex, which hosts a casting and extrusion facility. The cast facility casts standard and custom alloys in 7, 8, 9, 12 and 14 inch diameters. The extrusion facility houses a 1675T 7-inch Watson Stillman Press as well as a 2500T 8-inch UBE press.
OH, USA
Our extrusion, fabrication and assembly facility that focuses primarily on the automotive industry. The extrusions presses at this location are a 3500T 9-inch Danieli Press as well as a 6500T 12 inch Presezzi Press.
PA, USA
Our cast house produces billet for our Leetonia extrusion facility, as well as our customers. We cast standard and custom alloys in 7, 8, 9, 12 and 14 inch diameters.
PA, USA
York is the fabrication and assembly facility that does all the fabrication and assembly of the extrusions coming out of our Wellsville facility. This facility focuses on sawing, punching, finishing and machining.
